How to Print a Thermal Receipt from a Mobile Phone
A phone and a small thermal printer can replace a full counter computer. Android can print to most Bluetooth thermal printers and WiFi printers through its built-in print system — you only need to set it up once.

What you need
- An Android phone
- A thermal receipt printer (58 mm or 80 mm roll) with Bluetooth — or any WiFi printer for A4 / A5 invoices
- For Bluetooth thermal printers: a print service app such as RawBT from the Play Store
Bluetooth thermal printer (58 mm / 80 mm)
- 1Turn the printer on and pair it in the phone’s Bluetooth settings (the PIN is usually 0000 or 1234).
- 2Install RawBT from the Play Store, open it and choose your printer.
- 3In RawBT, turn on its print service. It now appears as a printer in Android’s print dialog.
- 4Set your receipt size to match the roll — 58 mm or 80 mm — so the receipt is built at the right width.
- 5Print a receipt: the print dialog opens, choose the RawBT printer, and press print.
WiFi printer (A4 / A5)
- 1Connect the phone and the printer to the same WiFi network.
- 2Most phones find the printer through the default print service. If not, install the maker’s print service (HP Smart, Canon Print Service or Epson Print Enabler).
- 3Print: choose the printer in the print dialog and press print.
If the receipt comes out wrong
- Text cut off at the side — the receipt size is set wider than the roll; choose 58 mm for a 58 mm printer.
- A long blank tail of paper — the receipt is being built as a full page; use a receipt (roll) size.
- The printer does not appear — check that it is paired and that the print service is turned on.
